As I was out walking the dog this morning, I was thinking about the value I have in my coaches. I don’t speak with them every day, but when we do connect, they each give me so much insight and support that I leave our calls feeling like I can accomplish anything! I actually work with two different coaches, for two separate reasons, and I need them both!
So, it made me think about how these ladies help me and the value not only they bring to me, but what I bring to my own clients. Now, 10 years ago, I don’t know if most of us would have even had the thought of hiring a coach…unless it was someone like personal trainer who was going to assist us in the area of health and fitness. But, coaching and having them by our side has become such a valuable asset over the years, especially since covid, that so many are now on the hunt for their next “best friend”!
So, what does a coach actually do? And what value do they bring to the table? These are great questions…and honestly, ones I hear a lot! So let me try to break it down for you just a bit!
- A coach will be your guide to anything you are working on! A coach should have the knowledge and experience needed to help you solve your problems, develop your plans for the future, and guide you along the way. They are not only there to share their wisdom but also help you from taking a side bar from your goals and teach you the most efficient way to your end result.
- A coach is your biggest cheerleader! Sure, we all have friends and family, but how many of us fear the judgement from those closest to us? I know I did. The coach’s job is to cheer you on, without judgement. They are there to keep you focused AND motivated to reach your goals. I think of the coach as your big sister…teaching you everything you need to know about life and how to accomplish the goals you have set for yourself!
- Accountability…that is a tough word! But, your coach is there to hold you accountable for your actions, or inactions. They are empathic, but also stern when it comes to all of the reasons you may or may not want to take those steps toward your goal. And, they do it in a way that makes you want to take the step…without fear of failure! Your coach will help you stay on your path and make your dream life happen!
Now, I have found that coaches I work with have become some of my “people”, meaning, I know I can reach out to them with any problem or concern…but also share all of my wins with them as well! They have become people I want in my circle and may not want to live life without them! I believe that is a true sign of a GOOD coach…and one you want next to you, guiding you along your path of success!
So, I ask you, have you considered a coach? Are you wanting to work on some changes in life and need that little extra push to get you on your path to greatness? I want you to think about this over the week and really think about what a great coach could do for you! Until next time! Cheri ❤️
